New Music: Basket Mouth (Oddz) - Where I'm From

Basket Mouth and Steelz together known as Oddz have come out with the second single off their upcoming album. This new single is titled Where I'm from and has Eldee the don on the hook. Their first single Where u de featured Eldee on a verse and Wizkid on the

Akon To Feature In P. Square's Chop My Money Video

Senegalese born American music star Akon is definitely in love with Nigerian music. After doing a collaboration  with Wizkid, he had a good time with Tiwa Savage and went ahead to sign on Wizkid, 2Face Idibia and P Square to his Konvict music label. One of his sign ons Peter Okoye of the P. Square duo have revealed that Akon will be appearing in the video for "Chop my money" a hit song off their invasion album. The video is currently being shot in Atlanta in the United States. See the tweet below:

Banky W Goes Hard On Wizkid Impostor

Funny things will never stop happening on social networks. An attempt by a dude on Twitter using a fake Wizkid account to Tweet at Banky did not go down well with the E.M.E boss who reacted with a fury quite unlike him. Banky W had gotten angry asking the dude to go kill himself  and saying
the real Wizkid left for Ghana and South Africa a few days ago. So we now know not to step on Mr Capable's toes o.

Recall that Banky W had similarly defended Wizkid when there was controversy surrounding Wizkid's child.

Comedy Is Not Lucrative Enough For Me… Basket Mouth


I bet you didn’t know that popular comedian Bright Okpocha aka Basket Mouth started his venture into the Nigerian entertainment industry as a rapper but opted for comedy when the latter became lucrative. It seems the recent removal of fuel subsidy by the Nigerian government which had a negative economic impact on most of the Nigerian population has made Basket mouth go back to his first love (rapping) which he now does alongside
comedy as a way of cushioning the economic hardship in the country. The comedian recently collaborated with Eldee and Wizkid on a song titled “Where u de?” There are also plans for Basket mouth to release a musical album later in the year with his long time rap partner Steelz together known as Oddz.

9ice, Versus: Album Review


9ice has joined the likes of musicians like Darey and Lagbaja who both released double albums at the same time. 9ice’s latest albums are Bashorun Gaa and Versus which has collaborations with other Nigerian musicians. The album Versus contains 18 tracks even though it was packaged as a 17 tracker. It contains songs made popular due to leak on the internet long before official release and therefore the album can be classified as a mixtape (not hip hop though) lol. Honestly, I do not know the title of most tracks on the
album since they’re labelled as 9ice Vs 2face, 9ice Vs Wizkid etc. The first track which I really love is beautiful just like its title. It features 2 Baba and was produced by D’Tunes. The song reflects on the good things of life. The Puffy T produced 9ice Vs VIP of Ghana in track 2 sounds like the beat from 2 Face Idibia’s True love on his “Grass 2 Grace” album. 9ice Vs Wizkid on track 3 sees the young EME boy trying to add class to his usual street “Yoruba flow” The song was not that “On Point” as the name implies and I’ll give it a 3 out of a five star rating. Track 4 titled 9ice Vs Banky W sounds like a combination of 9ice’s popular Rugged man beef song “Talk I’m listening and Bluetoothanother love song from 9ice. Guess you know who produced all of them- Cheepho. Banky killed it with his usually sexy voice. I’ll skip track 5 for the traditional people. Track 6 I guess refers to his ex where he reflects deeply of his regrets and tells his ex to move ahead and forget about him. 9ice Vs Tiwa Savage on “Everything” has a beautiful lyrics and rhythm and is one of my favourites on the album. I’ll rate that song a 4 in a 5 star scale.
Guess you already know the popular internet leaked 9ice Vs P. square song all the way. If I were you,  I’ll skip 9ice Vs Mode 9, 9ice Vs Dagrin and 9ice Vs Ajayi brothers since you know them already from  internet leaks and then I’ll play 9ice Vs Wizboy which is a very great combination of great singers with different genres and styles of music. Both artistes talk about money in a melodious manner.
And then 9ice Vs Kwam 1 is for those who need a word or two from the elders. On a 5 star scale, it is a 3 over 5 rating. Watchout for the Review of 9ice’s Bashorun Gaa album coming soon on your darling Nigerian number one music and entertainment blog www.naijawhistle.com

2FACE, WIZKID AND P-SQUARE NOW CONVICTS


Did I say convicts? Oh no! Sorry I meant the three top Nigerian musical acts (Wizkid, P Square and 2Face Idibia) have been signed unto Akon’s record label Konvict music.
Details of the music deal are still sketchy but Akon on his visit to Nigeria had first hinted of his intentions to sign the musicians on his label via Twitter. He then went ahead to announce the new development on Konvict music to a
gathering of guests and fans at Club 10 owned by Nigerian international soccer star, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.  We can now authoritatively say P. Square, Wizkid and 2Face are official members of the Konvict music family. This is on the heels of a purported Wizkid – Akon collaboration on Wiz kid’s hit track “Don’t dull” in which Akon’s version of the song was later leaked for free downloads.
The move shows the Nigerian music industry is calling on the world as Kanye West had earlier on signed two other top Nigerian acts D’banj and Don Jazzy of Mo ‘hits fame to his G.O.O.D music label.
Don Jazzy reputed as one of Africa’s best music producer had gone ahead to co-produce a song “Lift Off’ from Kanye West’s and Jay Z’s “Watch the throne album”. Lift-off featured Beyoncé3 on the chorus.

DAREY EMERGES NIGERIA’S SEXIEST MUSICIAN


Good times are here for Soul music executive Dare Art Alade aka Darey. The musician has achieved many feats in the past months and does not seem to be slowing down. From recording an international collaboration with Nigerian born US rapper Chamillionaire on the remix of his hit song “The way you are” to participating in popular reality shows endorsed by Nigeria’s biggest corporate brands (Glo Naija sings and Gulder ultimate search) to winning several awards including best dance video at the just concluded Channel O music video Awards that held in South Africa.
An opinion poll by a Nigerian entertainment and celebrity blog which had the likes of 2Face Idibia, Naeto C,Lynxx,Ice Prince Zamani,Wizkid and Banky W revealed
Darey as Nigeria’s sexiest male musician. The way you are crooner had previously revealed the secret to his success and is planning on releasing an international album sometime in the nearest future.

EGYPTIAN SINGER BEATS WIZ KID,CABO SNOOP AND FALLY IPUPA AT MTV EMA AWARDS


Abdelfattah Grini an Egyptian singer has beat Wizkid, Fally Ipupa and Cabo Snoop to emerge as the African representative contending in the new worldwide category of the MTV Europe music awards. The MTV EMA'S will hold on Sunday, November 6th at the Belfast’s Odyssey Arena.
The other global finalists include  Lena from
Europe, Big Bang from Asia Pacific, Britney Spears from North America and Restart representing Latin America.
The awards will have Selena Gomez as host and music stars including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jessie J, LMFAO and Snow Patrol are to perform on the night.
