OPRAH WINFREY CELEBRATES WITH SOUTH AFRICAN GIRLS

The first set of students has graduated from Oprah Winfrey’s $ 40 million elite school for underprivileged girls in South Africa. 72 out of a class of 75 girls

graduated and Oprah says the girls will be headed to Universities in the United States and South Africa for further studies. Oprah one of the world’s richest and most powerful women opened the South African leadership academy for girls in 2007 with immense support from South Africa’s former president Nelson Mandela. She had promise part of the graduation activity to be a first of its kind pyjamas party. She was seen dancing and called herself a proud mother of all the students who had a similar abused childhood like her.

The school has impacted on the lives of so many girls but has had its own share of scandals include the sexual allegations of a head mistress sexually abusing the students which led to a court case and an out of court settling and the firing of the school’s head mistress by Oprah Winfrey for allegedly ignoring the sexual complaints of students. Also a dead baby believed to have been born by one of the students was found on the school’s premises.

NELSON MANDELA'S GRAND CHILDREN TO START THEIR REALITY TV SHOW

In a Keeping up with the Kardashians like manner, the grandchildren of Africa's most popular man and South Africa's first black president, Nelson Mandela have have decided to do their own reality TV show.

 Swait Dlamini, Dorothy Adjoa Amuah and Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway all three grandkids of  Mandela say the show will be about their lives as young, black women. We're not wearing 'I'm a Mandela' T-shirts," said Swati Dlamini, granddaughter of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela who will soon be featured in the biopic Winnie.
 They say we should no't expect the show to focus on shopping,
fighting, or the bad behavior that makes American reality shows a success. "We are exposing Africa for what it is ... with a new middle class of intellectuals ... contributing to the economy," said Dorothy Adjoa Amuah, granddaughter of the late Evelyn Mandela. Although all three were raised in the US, they have since moved back to South Africa to make lives for themselves. "We're definitely not the African Kardashians," Dorothy said.

34-year-old Dlamini-Manaway plays the mother figure of the show with a 10-year-old son, a two-year-old daughter and a third child due in January. She runs the family business, Mandela Dlamini Associates while 32-year-old Dlamini is a single mother setting up a foundation focused on the housing, education and medical sectors. The youngest, 27-year-old Amuah is the socialite of the group with a law degree and an MBA from Monaco. She is in the luxury brands market.

The shows producer, Rick Leed said: "They clearly have a great love [for each other]. This may be part storytelling, part reality, except the story we are telling is real ... it's not going to detract from the dignity of Nelson Mandela."

No word yet on which network will air the show. But it is set to air in early 2012, and will feature many of their cousins; but don't expect to see Winnie or Nelson in the mix.
