In the aftermath of the drug scandal surrounding veteran Nollywood actor/ comedian Baba Suwe, a Lagos has ordered the NDLEA to pay Baba Suwe the sum of 25 million naira for defamation of character. Quoting the judge,‘The actions of the NDLEA constitute a flagrant abuse
and infringement of fundamental rights of the applicant’. She also added, ‘the compensation awarded should reflect the extent of which the applicant’s dignity was damaged’. The actor's lawyers had sued the NDLEA for a hundred million naira.
