D' banj was notably absent from the Channel O awards that took place at theTaboo Sandton in Johannesburg, South Africa. According to  sources, D'banj and Mo'hits crew planned to storm the award venue in style only to discover he was billed to fly on Economy by the event organizers. He immediately turned back with his crew and went home disapointed.
Nevertheless, the Koko master still won two awards ; A special recognition award and
another for the most gifted male video for the song Mr. Endowed remix with Snoop Dogg. The audience was shown a recorded telecast message from D'banj when he was called to receive his award.
The show was dominated by Nigerians and co host Banky W went home with the most gifted R and b video artiste while Darey won the award for ‘Most Gifted Dance Video Artiste’ and Naeto C  for  won ‘Most Gifted African West Video Artiste’. Rapper Ice Prince also beat fellow Nigerian act Wizkid to clinch the ‘Most Gifted Newcomer Video Artist’.
